AIR RAIDS AND REPRISALS

FRENCH AIRMEN'S EXPLOITS (Rec. March 24, 0.5 a.m.) Paris, March 23. A Zeppelin threw three bombs on Villers Cotteret (south-west of Soissons), and proceeded towards Paris. Its approach was signalled at nine o'clock on Monday night, and tho raider was driven off. - Several Tatibes which attempted to approach Amiens were driven oft. They dropped some bombs at Doullens (southwest of Arras), but these did no harm. French aviators replied to the Paris raid.by bombarding the Aerodrome at Gits, in Belgium, and the railway stations at Lichtervelde (West Flandors), Essen (Germany), Merkj, Wyfgve and Royc. Five hundred arrows were dropped on a German captive balloon in the Champagne district; bombs were dropped at the Bazincourt station, and on the enemy's batteries at Brimont and Vailly (on the Aisne); also on Cernay station, Mulheim Barracks, Staden station, and'several camps in Alsace: also on the aviation ground near Valenciennes.

TAUBE ATTACKS A STEAMER. (Rec. March 24, 0.5 a.m.) Amsterdam, March 23. A Taube aeroplane flying over the North Sea threw four tombs—which missed their mark—at the steamer El Flante, laden with grain for the Belgian Relief Commission. An officer manoeuvred the steamer until a British destroyer drove off the airman.
