TEE FALL OF FORT PRZEMYSL
AS TOLD FROM VIENNA

Vienna, March 23. Oflical.—Przemysl !has honourably fallen. General von Kusnanek. in a last sortie, withstood the Russians to the utmost during a seven hours' battle, but was forced to retreat. Tho Russians attacked the town from several sides on the following night. The attacks tailed, hut only three days' food supply was left, and the commander was instructed at the end of that time to abandon the fortress, after destroying all material, which was done, ihe fall does not affect the general situation. (R-ec. March 24, 0•o a.m.) Petrograd, March 23. The Austrians at the Lupkow Pass and the Germans at the Koziowa Pass responded _ on Sunday to Przemysl's wireless _ signals of despair, and struggled furiously to reach tlio Sail Valley. Tho Russians in the trenches met each wave with merciless riflo volleys, and towards dusk charged with the bayonet, causing great bloodshed, especially among the Germans on tho Munkacz Road. Thousands of Austrians surrendered at tho Lupkow Pass.
