SUMMARY AND FORECAST Present indications are for a continuanco of cold, unsettled weather, with heavy showers over the North Island, and in tho north-east districts of the north, and cold and changeable conditions elsewhere. Strong and squally southerties and south-easterly winds probable in and northward of Cook Strait, and moderate to strong eoutherlies • elsewhere. Barometer rise in the north, but little movement in the south ie at' present indicated. Barometric ■ pressure Is above normal in the fouthern districts, but has continued relatively low in the north, and strong southerlica and south-easterly winds have prevailed. Exccpt in the West Coast and southernmost districts of the South Island, cold and wet weather ha-s been experienced. generally, and very saually conditions have ruled from the East Coast between East Cape and Kaikoura.
