BRITISH INDUSTRIES FAIR
TO BE.HELD IN LONDON. , At yesterday's meeting of the Council of the Wellington: Chamber of Commerce the following letter was received from Mr. W. G. Wickham, H.M. Trade Commissioner in New Zealand:— "I beg to invite the attention of your. Chamber to the following message wliich the Board of Trade have cabled to me, with instructions to notify likely buyers, and request those interested to communicate direct with the Board of Trade British Industries Fair, 32 Cheapside, London, E.C.: — " 'The Board of Trade will hold «V British Trade Fair in the Agricultural Hall, London, on the lines adopted by Leipsic Exhibitions, of samples of British manufacture by manufacturers, in order to boob contracts. The fair is limited to toys, fancy goods, earthenware, and glassware, cutlery, electroplate, clocks, common jewellery, paper, stationery. It will be opened on May 10, and kept open- for fourteen days.' "You will understand that the goods in question are being made especially to replace those previously supplied by Germany. lam also requested to invite your attention to the list of goods appearing each week in the Board of Trade Journal, on an early page, under the heading 'Articles desired to Sell.' These articles are selected from long lists and instanced as being in the nature of specialities. I should bo grateful if you can see your way to put these lists before your mombers in order that they may indicate their exact requirements to their Home buyers." The chairman (Mr. C. W. Jones) said that the purpose would be served if the Press would note the contents of the latter and publish the samo.
