The anniverary services in connection with the Petone Nelson Street Methodist Church were celebrated yesterday before very large audiences. In the morning Dr. Gibb (St. John's) conducted the service, in tho afternoon the Rev. Wm. Beckett (Hutt Methodist), and in the evening the Rev. J. J. Lewis. Solos were delivered by tho Misses M'Ewen and Master Rowse. t A feature of the services was the singing of a children's choir under Mr. Ackroyd. On. Wednesday evening next the prizes won during the year are to be distributed.
Pocket-knives, -nifch blades to fold into the handle by a- spring, wore first made in the middle of the eighteenth century. '
