■"LADY WINDERMERE'S FAN."PATRIOTIC TOUR OPENS TONIGHT. It is soarcely nccessary to remind the public that tho patriotic tour of the Plimiiier-Hall Dramatic Company is to be inaugurated at the Grand Opera j House -this Evening. For the occasion [0 the managers have selected that splen,r did comedy of Oscar Wilde's "Lady n Windermere's Fan," which a world has e proclaimed to bo one of the finest soil' ciety plays ever penned. The opening of tho tour will .be - honoured by tlio presence of the Prime Minister (the Right Hon. W. F. Ma'ssey), other members of_ the Cabinet, Sir Joseph and lfl Lady Ward, the Mayor and' Mrs. Luke, 3 and a number of the local Consuls, who 'toye the object of the tour at heart, i- During the evening a unique souvenir y (id silk and parchment) of tho tour will be sold by auction to the highest bidi- der, all the money- realised thereby to go to the fund. Copies of this sou- £ vonir" will also be sold in the theatre. On Wednesday next the National Reserve is to parade to the Grand Opera _ House. Full instructions have been i_ issued froni headquarters to district secretaries._ The tennis clubs are being communicated with by the. association's 5 secretary.(Mr. Murray Keah)' with the view of forming a jolly, theatre party on Thursday evening; on Friday even- , ing the New Zealand Natives' Association will attend in force to'pay tribute to two of their compatriots : (Messrs.
