SAILORS FRIEND SOCIETY
Mr.' and Mrs. T. E. Jones. gave a concert at tlie Sailois' Friend Society, last night before an audience that fairly filled the institute. A sliort .story competition was' held, and an exhibition of-stair-rod l drill by' Miss H. Stairmand, was much appreciated, as was nl6o the reciting by Miss Jefferson. A hearty vote of thanks to tho performers was moved by the missi.oner, Mr. Moore, who presided. Items were rendered by'the.following:—Misses Jones (3), R. Dodds,; Hi. Stairmand, Jefferson, Messrs.: Jones (2), Childs, and: Walker. . .Mr. T. Jones responded onbehalf of the performers to' the vote of thanks.
