'At last night's mooting "of the City Council the Leaseholds Committee recommended, and it was agreed, that tho tender of Messrs. Allan Orr and Co. bo accepted for the lease of, premises Section 106, Featherstoh Street, at a rental of £13G 10s. for a two-yoar.term in lieu of a four-year period. : It was decided that no tender' be accepted for tho loaso of promises it the corner of Chow's Lane and Victoria' Street and in the meantime the City Engineer be instructed to immediately proceed with certain repairs' and improvements to the building ostimatod to cost £150'. - It was also decided that Mesars. Irvine and Stevenson bo informed in reply to their offer to surrender their lease of Sections No. 145 and 157.Lanibton Reclamation, Brandon Street;, and sell tho building to the Corporation at & price .to be fixed b,v negotiation,, that the couttoil regret that they are'unable ■M Meant tho offer, • ■ -.
