'SUMMARY AND FORECAST Present indications are for east to southeasterly winds generally, strong in and northward of Cook Strait and moderate elsewhere. . Expect dull and misty weather, with rain northward of Kawhia and OastlepoLiit, and fair to cloudy conditions elsewhere. Tlia barometer is likely to rice soon in the. north, but little movement at present indicated in the south. An anticyclone hfl6 ruled in the south, but the barometer haa continued relatively low in the north. Moderate to strong cast to south-easterly winds have predominated, and rein has fallen over the North Island, but cool and changeable conditions have prevailed elsewhere. D. O. BATES.
