GREECE AND THE TRIPLE ENTENTE
EX-PREMIER RELATES INTERESTING HISTORY. (Rec. March 17, 10.15 p.m.) Rome, March 16. The newspaper "II Corricre della Sera" (published in Milan) has interviewed M. Venizelos (ex-Premier of Greece), who said that twice since tho outbreak of the war the Triple Entente asked Greece to send men to help Servia, but' the attitude of Bulgaria prevented that.. When the operations in the Dardanelles commenced, the Triple Entente semi-officially inquired whether Greece was disposed to intervene. M. \ enizelos. proposed to send fifty thousand troops in exchange for Grecco obtaining the vilayet of Smyrna, but the Greek Crown Council rejected tho proposal, believing that it would bo impossible to defend Smyrna.
