LAWN TENNIS
TOURNAMENT AT BROUGHAM HILL. A sealed handicap tournament was held on the Brougham Hill Lawn Tennis Club's courts yesterday, when the competitors included club members and visitors from Jolinsonville. Karori, and Victoria College Clubs. A very enjoyable day was spent and,. at the conclusion of the play, a hearty vote of; thanks was accorded Mr. J. A. B. Howe who had generously given up his time to the conduct of the tournament. First prize was won by Mrs. Darling and L. Reeves, and second prize by Miss Yarrall and Morison. The scores were as follow: —Mrs. Darling and Leger Reoves, 286; Miss Yarrall and Morison, 252; Miss Baxter and Penlington, 279; Miss Howe and Wilson, 277; Miss Stevens and Picot, 277; Mrs. Earle and Caverhill, 272;-Miss A. Howe and Lind, 269; Miss Stevens and Rout, 265; Miss Travel's and Sim. 249; Miss Adams and Neville, 246; Miss Goldie and G. Grace. 244: Miss Baxter and Butcher, 243: Miss Sullivan and Hay._ 243: Miss Davis and Instone, 241; Miss Grapes and Barr, 240; Miss Anderson and R.
