MID-WEEK ASSOCIATION / CENTURIES FOR WILSON & HARRIS The seventh round of the mid-week competitions was conducted on the Basin Reserve, yesterday afternoon. In the match Oriental A-Rivals, Oriental in their first innings made 131, and the Rivals had lost two wickets for 58 runs. The not-out men only added a few runs before losing their wickets. • Two other wickets falling for small scores, it looked as if Oriental had a chance of winning. Schlaadt and Wilson getting together, however, made things move, the former getting 38 by good cricket before falling to a catch behind the wickets, while at the call of time Wilson was still unbeaten with 100 to his credit. M'Kenxie soon ran up 55, and with the score at 279 Rivals declared. _ Oriental at the call of time had lost six wickets for the small score of 59, due to the fine bowling of Baker, who took five wickets for 38 rnns. Rivals won on the first innings and scored a two-point win. Tho Oriental B v. Union match resulted in a two-point win for Union on the first innings. Oriental on the first day made 118, while Union had lost one wicket for 28. The twb not-out men (Harris 13 and Warne 15) started slowly, but 600n got going, and 157 appeared on the board before Warne was dismissed by Robinson for a chanceless 87. Thf wicket added 155 runs. Harris with 104 on was still unbeaten when Union declared with five wickets down for 255. At the call of time Oriental had lost four wickets for 53 runs. The result of the matches to date leaves Rivals with a lead of two points over Oriental A and Union. The points are as follow:— Rivals 14, Oriental A and Union. 12 each.
