BY THE WELLINGTON, PATBIOTIO SOCIETY. : | ' To celebrate We''destruction of the last enemy oruiser iii the Pacific, the German cruiser Dresden, the Wellington' Patriotic Society haye decided to holda street carnival on Saturday Tveek,March 27, which will terminate .with a grand "Dresden, Night" at the'.Grand Opera House, on which ocoasion the members of the society will attend in a body the final performance in Wei-, lington of the Phmmer-Hall Patriotic Comedy Company. On that evening: an array of articles, ranging from a couple of donkeys to an oil painting, will* bo sold at an appropriate time in aid of the Belgian Fund. During the afternoon a street parade will be held. A procession of decorated vehicles will start from' the Government Buildings at 2 p.m., and .headed by a band will slowly parade through the city, whilst an army of willing helpers, including the staff of the Government Printing Office, will sell fruit, flowers, and even poultry, (all of which will bedonations), to the public, the whole of the proceeds to 'go towards the Belgian Fund. Mr. Wallace, of Messrs. Thomp-. son Bros., will'act as auctioneer at the sale/to be held at the theatre on "Dres-" den' Night."
