In the Supreme Oourt, -George William Pearse, for indecent assault, was sentenced to eighteen months' imprisonment 1 . -Thomas Henry Reedy was aoquitted on a charge of cattle stealing. Bruoe Burns; aged 16, who had pleaded guilty in the Lower Court to' forging hi? mother's name to a voucher for £20, was ordered to come-up for sentence when called upon, and pay the costs. ■ The money found on 'him, over £18, is to be returned to his mother._* 7 James Dunn, alias Burns,' .charged with forgery, was sentenced to eighteen months' imprisonment. ' GISBORNE CRIMINAL SESSIONS. Cisborne, March 16. In the Supreme Court to-day, Paku Peakman, a Maori hailing from Wairoa, was found not guilty, of manslaughter, arising out of. the death of Gerhard Howe,'after being knocked down by accused s motor-car on February 13 in Gisborne. Pa Pati, a young Native from P9l+ Awanui, was charged yesterday with carnal knowledge. The jury disagreed. A new . trial ;has been set down for to- , morrow. This will conclude the criminal - sessions. /
