Mr. Holman, the State Premier, haß cabled to the Agent-General (Sir Timothy Coghlan) a further £40,000 — the eighth instalment, of the Belgian Relief Fund, contributed by New South Wales. CONCENTRATION OF FUNDS. 1 QUESTION FOR LONDON CHAMBER OF COMMERCE. Sydney, March 16. The Auckland and Christchurch Chambers of Commerce cabled to the London Chamber, asking whether, in view of the Belgian Commission's appeal, it was advisable to concentrate their fund on Belgium, and tlie London Chamber replied that the requirements are still urgent, and that it is desirable that the foodstuffs fund should continue for tbo benefit of wounded' soldiers, refugees, and distressed poor. There is perfect organisation. The Auckland . and Christchurch Chambers are advised that they 6hould not concentrate on Belgium under present circumstances. The fund exceed) £100,000, and all but £3500 has already been allocated for the purchase of supplies. (Rec. March 16, 8.5 p.m.) London. March 15. Sir T. A. Coghlaa has sent to the Commission for the relief of the Belgians £40,000 from Auckland, Christchurch, and New- South Wales, making £180,000 to date, and also fifteen Red Cross lorries.
