— LARGE AMOUNT SHIPPED. The Government have already pu!* chased large quantities of meat for ex-' port to the order of the Imperial authorities, and the scheme is working very smoothly up till the present. Two of the oversea ships which will commence loading shortly, the Rotorua and the Kumara, are due at. Auckland now. The boats to load meat in the future ■ are For March, Rotorua and Kumara; for April, lonic, Aiawa, Pakeha, Ze&landic, Turakina, Muritai, Hawks's Bay, and Star of Scotland. ' Following ate the quantities of meat already purchased and shippedßeef, 17,286 quarters; mutton, 26,360 carcasses; lamb, 77,150 carcasses.
