HUTT VALLEY HIGH SCHOOL SITE.
Sir, I notice that tho Education. ■ /■Board want a now site for the High fecbool for Lov.-or Hutt and Petone, ana. are trying to oncroach upon tho rights of the public by taking 10 acres ?T7 vi' Hutt' Park reoreation block. and suburbs a;ro now too congested. ■ 1 There is really not a- derent place left either at the Hutt or Petono for the benefit of the coming generation Why not lot the Educa--2?? j themselves a block ,of land? There is plenty available between .the Hutt and Petone, on the Main Hutt Road or about Alicetown. I toe noticed some very largo paddocks ,J " n . Vl ?tona and' Cuba Streets and White s Line. , Some of theso surely can-bo secured, and they would be more suitable than taking the scholars right away to Hutt Park; The railway runs Petone to the Lower Hutt very, frequently, the return, daily ticket is.only 105..10 d, per year. The bus or tram service Petone to .Hutt will come up Cuba Street Yic.street, and to tho Hutt Bridge. iWh.y not the board get a block in a 6ite that will suit the residents of both the Hutt and Petone. In my opinion the places I mention are the most suitable. The resident's want all the air space they can got for tho increasing population.' Petone and tho Hutt in the near future will bo one, and carrying a population of at least 50,000 within the nest ten years.— I-'am, etc., ' : ' HUTT' RESIDENT. tlarch 18, 1915. :
