Sydney, March 15. / The Australasian Coal and Shale Employees' Association, representing the amalgamation of the coalmining unions throughout the eastern States, has been launched. Later it is proposed to extend the association's activities to West Australia and New Zealand. 'Work was resumed at the Maitland collories, excepting Whitburn, to-day. " SOUTH COAST MINES IDLE. A CRITICAL POSITION. Sydney, March 15. The whole of the South Coast mines are idle to-day to enable the men to discuss the arrest of a number of wheelers for non-payment of fines and other grievances. The position ia regarded as critical.
