SUMMARY AND FORECAST Present indications are for strong westerly to south-westerly winds. W«ather probably colder and squally, with heavy showers in many parts of the country, the barometer rising everywhere soon. The weather was generally fine and genial on Saturday, but increasing northerly winds were exverienced on Sunday, with increasing cloudiness and rain following in most parts southward of Kawhiq. and Castlepoint, The barometer has risen in the south to-day, ivith strong southerly winds, but northcrlics are still reported in the north. DISTRICT REPORTS. Masterton, March 15.—Oloudy. Featheiiston, March 16.—Pine, but windy and'unsettled. Oreytown, March 15.—Dull and threatening.
