About 3000 e people were present. Duke Kahanamoku ■- finished third in the 100 yds. Handicap in 56 2-ssec., but was unplaced in the 50yds. race. His time was taken and given as 22 3-ssoc. —a world's record. > Geo. Cunha, who is travelling with d Kahanamoku, was unplaced in the 100 sf yards race, but won the 50yds. Handia cap in 25sec. C. Welson, triple New ; Zealand champion, and Miss D. Fari, quhar, New Zealand lady champion, [_ also competed at the carnival. y- ■ .
