WAR'S IMPERATIVE DEMANDS
. •> STEPS TO INCREASE OUTPUT OF MUNITIONS (Rec. March 13, 5.30 p.m.) London, March 18. : The Chancellor of the Exchequer (Mr. Lloyd George), referring in tha House of Commons to the Defence of the Realm Act Amendment Bill, said that business men had :been subjected to inconvenience which was, inevitable in war time. "Instead of business •as usual,'" said the Chancellor. ' ! we want . victory as usual. That will be impossible, unless everybody in the comnnm- - ity is prepared to suffer all; kinds 'of inconvenience and discomfort—own sac- V rifice themselves. ■ "It is essential that Britain shoulcl increase enormously her output :of. iyar but a drastic measure would hot be justified unless it were felt that we could not proceed further without it.
