PIRATE RAMMED BY DESTROYER

The German submarine TJ 12 has been rammed and sunk by the' British torpedo-boat destroyer Ariel. "The Admiralty announces that the German, submarine TJ 12 was rammed to-day by the torpedo-boat destroyer Ariel (Lieutenant-Commander James V. Creagh) and sunk. The-crew surrendered." ' SUBMARINE SEEN IN DUBLIN BAY. • (Rec. March 11, 10.45 p.m.) London, March 11. A submarine was sighted in Dublin Bay. Judging by the largeness of the crow on the submarine U 12, either the numbering of the submarines has been altered to deceive England, or the Germans are training double crews. PIRATE REPORTED SUNK IN THE IRISH SEA. _ .- .. • • i . London, March' 10. Captain White, now m America, claims that the steamer Overdale, 3495 tons, sank a submarine in the Irish Sea on January 1. The steamer was drydocked at Queenstown, when it was found that two blades of her propeller had been lost and some plates damaged. THE TORPEDOED STEAMER DURWARD. , _ , Rotterdam, March 10. % Prize Court at Hamburg requested Dutch shippers interested in the cargo of the Durward to notify their claims, with a view to, possible identification. [The British steamer Durward, 1301 tons, was torpedoed on January 22 by i a German submarine in the Hook of Holland, The crew were saved.] WHAT HAPPENED TO A TRAWLER'S OREW. London, March 10. ' Sixteen of the crew of the trawler Grisnez have landed at Newhaven. They met a German submarine at Boachy Head, on the south coast of England, which signalled them to go aboard another trawlor in the vicinity, but before the crew were able to get out the boats the submarine opened fire, badly damaging one boat. _ Finally a shot exploded the Grisnez's boiler, and left her in a sinking condition.
