UPPER HUTT COURT

At the monthly sitting of the Upper Hutt Court, held yesterday, Mr. D. G. A. 'Cooper, S.M., presided. Wra. E. Blackwell, who had left the district without notifying the authorities, was convictcd and discharged for committing a breach of the Defence Aot. Alfred Southey, an old offender, was fined 55., with 7s. costs, in two cases of allowing stook to wander An order was made against Charles Bracken by consent in an affiliation case for the payment of 7s. Gd. per week, with the addition of 2s. 6d. per week in respect of arrears, for tho support of his illegitimate child.

In tho civil case Wm. H. Wilson v. Arthur Mossop, judgment was giren for plaintiff by default for tho sum claimed, £1 4s. 9d., with costs ss.
