• , , r „rri ..c .. - London, March 9. The military correspondent or ".Tho Jime6" estimates that there are twelve Austro-German army corps operating oil tho Pilica River. This is the last move of the enemies' general offensive, which has been checked in East Prussia and in the central Carpathians.

A communique states:—"During several days' battle preceding the capture of Hill 1003, commanding the district round Grodno, the 21st German Corps lost from twelve to fifteen thousand killed. The discomfiture of two other corps followed, and thenceforward tile enemy's operations were strictly confined to tho defensive. A retreat ensued nnder continual pressure."
BATTLES EIGHT ALONG THE WHOLE FRONT. . "In tho Carpathians, in the region of Baligrod, tho Austrians continue their offensive, notwithstanding crushing losses.
