Cabled advice has been received by* the New Zealand Shipping Company to the effect, that the Rotor ua has sent a wireless message to Hobart to the effect that she eipects to arrive there early this morning. _____ / , PANAMA CANAL TOLLS. ' The South America to the United States and Europe route brought 24 vcasels, with a tonnage of 166.917, while tho return routo brought 15 vessels, with a tonnage of 74,644. Twenty-four vessels, with a tonnage of 148.207, used the canal on the United States Atlantic Coast to tho- Far East tpute.
ARAWA AND lONIO REPORTED. Cable advice has been receired by . the head .office of the Shaw, Savill and Albion Company (fating that the Arawa end lonic left Cape Town on March 4 and March 9 respectively. ,T-he former vessel is bfljind from Liverpool to Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane, and on completion of discharge at the last-mentioned port will come-across to New itoaland to load for Home. The lonic is en Toute from London to Wellington, and is due here about March 30. .
WIMHERA DJJE FRIDAY. ; Having left Hobart at 5 p.m. on Monday the Huddart-Parkcr steamer Wimmera.ls erpecfed to arrive at Wellington on Eraday evening. She has 65 passengers and. 530 tons of caVgo on board for this port, and will $ail for southern ports. Hobart, and Melbourne at 5 p.m. on March 13. MESS-TABLE GOSSIP. Captatn Auld, formerly chief officer in the 0. and D. Line's employ, has been- appointed to command the liner Port Phillip. Captain A., T. Dowell, master of the Ngotoro, who has been on holiday leave, rejoined the vessel at Greymouth, and hia brother (Captain Peter Dowell) reverts to his former position as mate of the Ngahere.
Captain Muir, of the Ngakuta, will go on holiday next week, and his place wjII be taken by Captain Peter Dowell.

A projected departure from Newcastle for Npw Plymouth, Picton, and Wellington yesterday was the Union collier Kasna. She wae to have been followed to-morrow by the Koromiko for Wellington direct.
The Government steamer Hinemoa arrived in port shortly after 5 p.m. yesterday from Cook Strait. During her absence from here she has landed stores at Tho Brothers, recharged the cylinders at the Jackson Head beacon, and landed material and stores at Karori- Rock.
According to a Press Association message received from Chri6tchurch; the New Zealand Shipping Company's chartered steamer Wirral, which cleared Wellington on February 10 for London, arrived at her destination on March 7.
The' following cablegram has been received in Australia from the Institute of London Underwriters, dated February 26: "Banffshire, Port Natal, starboard refrigerator is out of order; cargo undamaged." The Federal and Shire 6teamer Banffshire sailed from Brisbane on December 28, and Sydney January 20, for London and Liverpool.
According to advices received from London, the New Zealand Shipping Company's chartered. steamer Somerset has arrived there from Wellington. The same company's Rimutaka has also arrived at the Home port from New Zealand.
"Shipping World, a London shipping paper, contains tho' following paragraph: "The steel spar-deck steamer Canada Cape, 4286 ton 3 gross, built at Newcastle in 1904, by the Northumberland Shipbuilding Oompany, Ltd., claesed ■ 100' A 1 and passed Lloyd's special survey No. 2in 1911, engines 25, 41, and 69 by 48in. stroke, fitted with refrigerating machinery and insulated for the carriage of frozen meat, carries about 7000 tons d.w. on 25ft. draught, dimensions 360 ft. by 48ft. by 20ft. 2in., owned by Me«srs. On account of the Easter holidays the HuddartrParker steamer Ulimaroa will eail from Wellington for Sydney and Hobart on Thursday, April 1, instead of Friday, as usual. 1

It is Teportcd in Sydney that at least four vosseis particularly well known in the Australasian trade have been disposed of during the last month or so.
Next- Monday the Union Company's oollier 'Rnknnoa, will commence loading at Newcastle for Wellington.
After a fine-weather passage the Hud-dart-Parker steamer Ulimaroa arrived, at Wellington from Sydney yesterday afternoon. She berthed at the Queen's Wharf,No. 1 Eouth, and will fail for Lyttelton at 5 p.m. to-day. Tie Ulimaroa will return to Wellington on Friday, and leave for Sydney the same evening.
An exceptionally large consignment of sheep,will be taken from Napier and Wellington to Lyttelton by the Union Company's Wbangape next week. The vessel will leave Napier with 4000 sheep on board on Monday. She will call .here oiv Tuesday to pick tup another SCOO, and.will Bail the same day for Lyttelton.
Dunedin will be the first port of call for the A. and A. Line' 6 chartered steamer St. Ursula. The vessel is en route from New York, via Panama Canal, and will subsequently visit Lyttelton; Wellington, and Auckland before proceeding to Australian ports.
Weather report* received from -Westport end Greymouth yesterday were, to "the effect that there was a heavy swell on the bar at both ports. The wind was light east-south-east at Westport, and north-east at Greymouth.
On arrival at Dunedin from Wellington towards the end of this week,, the Corinna will.be docked for survey. These arrangements, it is understood,. will not interfere with the vessel's running.
