Stedman left Dunedin (where he is ; agent for Humber Cars) on his annual" business trip to Christchurch, at G. 20 a.m., and maintained an average speed 1 throughout the journey of oW 25 miles; per hour. The Humber Car weighs 18cwtj fully equipped for the road, and has already done over 11,000 miles without a! mechanical stop. The petrol consump-j tion was worked out carefully by Mr. 0.1 J. Wilson, of Invercargill, who occora-i panied Mr. Stedman, and it records 301 miles to a gallon. On a gallon of lubri-l eating oil the Humber runs 1700 miles,-! and the running cost approximates three' guineas for 1000 miles. These ore facts, 1 proved and certified by Mr. 'Wilson.
