Members of the Legion, of Honour, in which a number of British soldiers have recently been enrolled, cannot be sentenced'to imprisonment. This immunity, however, does not servo to put a premium on crime. It must occasionally happen in alt order number over 12,000 that a member is found guilty of misdemeanour. When this occurs the Judge pronouncas the formula: "You have been found wanting in honour. In the name of tho legion, I solemnly expel you from ita ranks."
