Company has purchased' the e.s. Cuyaba, recently owned by the. Empress Fluvial Company, Uruguay, for service in the New Zealand Coastal trade. The Cuyaba is a steel screw.vessel of 690 tons gross and 536 net, built iu 1909 by Short Bros., Sunderland. Her di'memiona are:—Length, 205 ft.; beam, 33ft.; and depth, 13ft. loin.; and her dead-weight capacity is 1250 tons. Sho is fitted with triple expansion engines of 143 nominal, horsepower, having cylinders 17in., 28in., 'and 461n. diaraotcr by Join, stroke. Power is applied from two single-ended boilers with two furnaces each, having a total grate area of--76 square feet, ana a total heating' power of 2421 square feet, and working at a iprossurc of 1601b.
