Auckland, March 1: The unsavoury reputation of the lower part of Grey Street led to a deputation of Grey Street residents interviewing the Mayor to-day and '• asking that something be done to , rid the thoroughfare of the undesirable characters. It is alleged that respectable people were leaving the street and were being replaced by others not respectable, and that 6ome landlords encouraged this practice because they could get high rents from a certain class of tenants. . As the result of the interview it was decided to make a special appeal to the landlords concerned to toke more care with tenants and rid the street of undesirables. ' I
