TRAMWAYS FINANCE
A SATISFACTORY INCREASE. January proved to ha a very, good month as far as tramways revenue is concerned: . The figures for the period between January 6 and February 2 show an increase on those for the corresponding- period of last year of £815, whilst at the same time the working expenses have dropped £665. This drop is doubtless due to the fact that the city was paying heavily for striketime coal, the cost of which increased the working expenses of both the city power-houses considerably.
