'At 10 o'clock on Saturday mornirfg D (Mountain) Battery (Wellington) startft'l oat from tho Drill Hall, mirrns its SUns, and made for Paremata. In lieu of the annual cncampment, tho Bnff<ry is proceeding through to Palmerston North by short stages. Bivouacs for tho week were arranged for the fo'low>jiej places : Saturday night,_ Paremata; Sunday niaht, PaekakarikiMonday otghf,, Waikanao: Tuesday night, Manakau; Wednesday night, _ Shannon ; .Thursday night, Linton; Friday night, Palmerston North. The return _ from Palmerston North will be by train. The Battery is under tho command of Maior A. J. Petherick. During the trek the specialists will carry out instruction in signalling, scouting, and taking up positions, and the whole of the Battery, including the drivers, will be instructed in horso management, eamp duties, camp sanitation, and bivouacs. During the trek, tho Battery will probably be inspected by Lieu-tenant-Colonel C. M. Gibbon, Chief of the General Staff.
