' INTER-CLUB CONTESTS. •The inter-club lawn tennis contests were continued on Saturday. Some of the results were as follow: — Victoria College men's senior team defeated Brougham Hill by one set. Brougham Hill men's junior team won from Johnsonville by default. Lyall Bay defeated Victoria College third-class B team by 6 r'ubbors to nil. In the following scores, the names of the Lyall Bay players are given first: — Singles: Dalgleish defeated Robinson, 9—l; Arcus defeated Tiley, 9—2; Deare defeated DaJl, 9—o; M'Gill defeated Kay, 9 —l. Doubles: Dalgleish and Arcus defeated Robinson and Tiley, 9—7: Deare and MiGill defeated Dall and Kay, 9—B. Brougham Hill men's third-class team defeated'Petone by six rubbers to nil. 'i'he scores were aB follow, the Brougham Hill representatives being mentioned first in every instanoe:—Singles: Morison defeated Cowie, 9—Oj.Sohaab defeated Green, 9—o; Ward defeated Petono representative, 9 —6; Caverhill defeated Coles, Doubles: Morison and Ward defeated Cowie and Green, 9 —7; Schaab and Caverhill defeated Coles and another, 9—3. Brougham Hill senior ladies defeated Victoria College by five rubbers to one. In the following scores the Brougham Hill representatives are mentioned first in every instance j—Singles: Miss Davis defeated Miss \Vil6on, 6—l, 6—2 ; Mrs. Goldie lost to Miss Sievwright, 6 —2, o—6, 5—6; Mrs. W. E. Howe defeated Miss Cooke, 6—2, 6 —2; Miss Morgan defeated Miss Mason, 6—3, 6—o. Doubles: Miss Davis and Mrs. Goldie defeated Misses Wilson and Sievwright, 6—3, 3 —<s, 6—5 ; Miss Morgan aad Mrs. W. E. Howe defeated Misses Cooke and Mason, 6—2, 6 —l.
Brougham Bill junior ladies defeated Newtown by four rubbers to two. Following are the scores, the Brougham Hill players being mentioned first:— Singles: Miss Stevens lost to Miss Printzen; 3—7; Miss Sinclair defeated Miss Jenkins, 7—3; Miss Hunt defeated Mrs. Rhodes, 7—2; Miss Miller defeated Miss Asquith, 7—2. _ Doubles: Misses Steven6 and Sinclair lost to Misses Frintzen and Jenkins, 2—7; Misses Hunt and Miller defeated Mies Asquith and Mrs. Rhodes, 7—3.
Brougham Hill third-class ladies defeated Potone by six rubbers to nil. In the fallowing acoree tho Brougham Hill players are' mentioned first:— Singles: MiBS Andrews defeated Mi6s Walters, 7—o; Miss Yarrall defeated Miss Castle, 7—2; Miss Tipling defeated ftliss Hill, 7—2; Miss Sheldon defeated Miss Scott, 7—3. Doubles: Misses Andrews and Yarrall defeated Swisses Walters and Castle, 7—3; Misses Tipling and Sheldon dofeated Misses Hill and Scott, 7 —3. CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS. Progress results in connection with tho Brougham Hill Club's championships are as follow: — '• Men's Singles—Bundle defeated Ross, 6—4, 6—o. Reeves defeated Bundle, 6—4, 6-8, 6—3. Combined Doubles —Mrs. Goldie and Uutdhcr defeated Miss Morgan and Morison, 6—3, 6—3.
