THE ECONOMICAL MOTOB-215 MILES ' ON 7 GALLONS OF PETBOL. , Last Friday, at 150, Mr, S. E. Stedmaa arrived at our Christchurch garage in hia ■10-23-h.p. Humbor Car from Dunedin. Mr, Stedman left Dunedin (where he is agent for Humber Cars) on his annual bnsineSs trip to Christchurch, at 0.20 a.m., and maintained an average speed throughout the journey of over 25 miles per hour. The Hnniber Car weighs 18cwt, fully equipped for the road, and has already done over 11,000 miles without a mechanical stop. The petrol consumption was worked out carefully by Mr. O.' J. Wilson, of Invertargill, "who accompanied Mr. Stedman, and it records 30 miles to a gallon. On a gallon of lubricating oil tho Humber runs. 1700 miles, and tho running cost approximates throe guineas for 1000 miles. These are facts, proved and * certified by Mr. Wilson, There is no need to say inore. ITr. Stedman is now at our garage, with the car that did tli'e trip, and will be pleased to givo trial trips.
