Heavy supplies, of locally-grown fruit continue to arrive in the local market, although vrhen compared witji the previous Jortnight most lines are firmer. Tho glut in pears and apples which has ruled during tho last. week, lias now eased, with payable rallies now ruling. Hutt tomatoes arc now arriving in fair quantities, but so far values are- in tho sellers' favour. Vegetables are in even supply and demand, practically all lines meeting a fair demand. Both onions and potatoes, especially tho latter, have eased in value this week. Fresh' are now in belter supply, priced having eased accordingly. Yesterday's approximate values were: — Queen pines, Bs. to Bs. Gd. 'per case; pincapples, 7s. to 7s. 6d. per case; Hand oranges, Bs. to 9s. per case; bananas, 10s. to 12s. -6d. per case; watermelons, Is. to 2s. each; rock melons, ss. 6d. to 6s. per case; American lemons, 300, 20s. per case; Messina lemons, 200, 15s. per case; do., 180, Ids. ™r case; hothouse tomatoes, 6d. to 7J<L per lb.; outside do., ss. to Bs. per half-case; seconds, do., 2s. to 3s. 6d. per half-case; dessert peaches, 3a. to is.
