SCHEDULE UNDER PREPARATION. v i • - , The schedule fixing the price? of meat and'other necessary details, in connection with the proposal that the Government should obtain control of the meat supplies for the Imperial Government, in case ,of need, is in the hands of the Government Pnnfcer., The Prime Minister stated yesterday that it would probably be available for publication to-day. He _was quite ready to deal with the position as soon as the Imperial Government sent out the necessary authority. He proposes to utilise as far as possible the machinery which the freezing companies have employed in carrying on their own business. and he will also have the assistance of that branch of the Department of Agriculture which deals s with the supervision of shipments, and grading of meat. The price to be paid by the Dominion Government would be based on a system of grading, and he intended to keep the working of the scheme under his personal supervision.
