A Farewell Cathering. During the summer months the services at the Rona Bay Presbyterian Church have, been conducted by Mr. M'Rae, and opportunity was taken last evening to express appreciation of his work. Mr. and Mrs. William Allan had invited the members and adherents of the congregation to their home at Muri--tai, which was prettily decorated for the occasion.. Musical and elocutionary items were contributed by. various of. those present, and at an interval during supper Mr. M'Rae was handed a purse of sovereigns. The presentation . was made by Mr. Allan, who conveyed the thanks of the congregation to Mr. M'Rae for his devoted ministry, and expressed the hope that he might- later resume work here. Cheers were then given for the chiof guest and for the host and hostess and the Misses Allan. Mr.- M'Rae leaves next week for the south, to contihue his studies at Otago University and Knox College. Y.W.C.A. Notes. Miss Helen 1"'. Barnes, National Secrotary of the Y.W.C.A. for Australasia, will arrive in Wellington next Wednesday from Christchurch. The conference at Day's Bay will open on Thursday evening next. Delegates are expected to arrive in Wellington on that day from the southern association.

Miss Cole will give an address at the Young Women's Christian Association to-morrow afternoon.- For the past eight years Miss Colo has_ been engaged ii different branches of Y.W.C.A. work iu England. Miss Eileen Bennett, of Karori, is visiting Auckland, and is tlio guest of Mr. and Mrsi Sydney Parkins. Mrs. Ponsonby and tile Misses Ledger have arrived at Melbourne by the Orsova on their return voyage from a visit to Great Britain. Mrs. Box, Madame Melba's sister, ar. rived in Auckland from Australia last week, and is staying with her sister, Mrs. George Purcnas. A, southern exchange states that word has been received that Miss Edith Fairchild is now in charge of a hospital at Boulogne, for.'the reception of wounded. Miss Fairchild is a. daughter of the lata Captain Fairchild. Mrs. Myles' Bloihfield, wife of Lieu-tenant-Commander Blomfield, H.M.A.S. Melbourne, is staying with her sister, Mrs. 11. It. Mrs. A. H. Russell and Miss Elsie Williams (Hawke's Bay), who have been staying at Day's Bay, are visiting Mrs. J. S. Sfcudholme, Ruanui. An enjoyable concert, was given at the oamp, Trentham, on Thursday evening, under the auspices of the New Zealand Patriotic Society. Mrs. J. Lewis and Miss Marie Makin (Blenheim) sang the duet,'"EJ?oelsi()r." After "the boys" had EUflg popular choruses, Miss Makin contributed the song, "Your King and Country Want You," and Mrs. Xewis fave "Yqur King and Country Need ou." Mr. Harry Shakes iji his sketches was umch appreciated, whil? Master Winston M'Carthy found much favour. A compliment is also due to Mr, H- G. M'oar%, t?J?o contributed humorous songs. Miss Marie Makin played the accompaniments. During an interval the chairman (Mir. ' J. Lewis) made a suggestion that the _ troopers might by some means assist in raising money for Belgian relief, and it was decided to arrange for a'concert party of troopers to give an entertainment in town for the New Belgian Relief Fund. At this concert a gold medal is- to be presented to the trooper who gives the best recital of "The Day."
