Minister's appeal that farmers ■should extend their respective cropping areas and sow more wheat, oats alia other needful erop3, it was suggested that the fanners- should be compelled to put idle areas under cultivation, whoreupon one fanner said that even if-this scheme was adopted many tanners would bo looking for profits, and the only solution of the problem as to how to eliminate this selfish spirit waß tbo imposition of a war tax.
