G. H. Brown was the mrfn* exhibitor to. the farmers' classes. -J. Bartosh secured five wins and two seconds, while A. F; Gibbs gained one first and D. Scott a second and third. The fat sheep and lambs proved a feature of the exhibition, and though Eeid ' and. Sons, of Makino, had other good, competition they succeeded in securing most joints, thus winning the Parker. Cup •outright. " ... , , ; . _ HORSES. . It was in the horse division'that the strength of the show was seen. Draughts . .ware poorly represented, but in the light fjherrse aid harness sections there was a .'•great display of utility animals, and' the judges were . unanimous •-that both, in ■numbers and quality Taihape would hold lt9 own with the best on the- Coast. 'Miss Jessie Campbell's The Count was in 'gieat form, and was awarded first for .Jight; hack, lady's hack, and best paced 'hack, whilst this animal, which has done j» well in the show rings of the Coast, was also awarded the championship for single harness horses. In the hack classes •Ernest Short's, Scout followed up his many past successes by "winning the championship.: A good deal of local inwas. centred in the competition for district hacks, oovering a 30-miles radius of Taihape, and to be ridden by a lady resident in the district. • There w.ere 15 ' entries, T. F. bay .mare Molly bains adjudged-the winner.The pony! division provided good competition,;E; H.
