Mr. Stedman left Dunedin (where he is agent for Humber Cars) on his annual business trip to Cbristchurch, at 6.20 a.m., and maintained an average speed' throughout the journey of over 25 ratios < per hour., The Humber Car weighs 18cwt. fully equipped for the road, and has already dose over 11,000 miles without a mechanical stop. Tho petrol consumption fras worked out carefully by Mr. O. ,T. Wilson, of Inverc&rgill, who acoompanied Mr. Stedman, and it records 30 miles to a gallon.
