Wedding at Sydney. The wedding took place very quietly in St. Phillip's Church, Sydney, on February 10, of Miss Nash, of Wellington, to Mr. Wyllie, City Electrical Engineer for the City of Auckland. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Canon Bellingham. The bride wore a gown of white crepe .do clhine, made with a pleated basque and a pink tulle hat trimmed with black wheat ears. She carried a bouquet of white, flowers. Miss Wyllie,- niece of the bridegroom, attended as bridesmaid, and wore a frock of silver grey cashmere de soie with touches of pale blue,_ finished with a belt of amethyst satin. Her large black hat was trimmed with a pink rose. .Mr. T. W. Howard was the man. Miss Hamilton, _wh« was present at the wedding, was in a gown of white crepe «le chine and a white hat with feathers. A luncheon party <was subsequently held, ajid later the bride and bridegroom left for the Blue Mountains. Wedding at Colombo. . A pretty wedding was quietly celebrated at St. Peter's Ohuroh, Colombo, oil December 19, when Mr. James Done Dunlop, planter of Mahoga, Dehiowita, Ceylon, was married to Miss Muriel Ruby Gower, "Mahunga," Masterton, who only arrived in the island two days before. Tho churdh was beautifully decorated with palms and evergreens and the service was conducted by the Rev. A. L. Keith (vicar). The bride was given away by Mr. H. W. Gadiu, of Nagahateraah, Elpitiya, while tho bridegroom was : attended by Mr. A. E. Morrell, of Travancore, as best man. The bride wore a 'gown of .-white meteor satin, with an overdress of white me--teor ninou, trimmed with honiton lace, and a touch of orange blossoms, and a white hat with pale pink roses. She carried a sheaf of Madonna- lillies. The bride's travelling . dress was of fine white hailstone muslin with h, lace and chene hat. Mr. and Mrs. Dunlop subsequently left by motor to toil* the Islands. .'
Weddings in Ireland. I On New Year's Day a wedding of New Zealand interest took place at St. John's Church, Malone, Belfast, writes a London correspondent. The bridegroom was Richard Walter Wilkinson, second lieutenant 14th> Service Battalion Manchester Regiment, son of Mr. John Wilkinson, Linden, Malone .Park. Belfast. The bride was Miss Ivy Muriel Burrowes Bassett, youngest daughter of tho late Mr. Thomas Bassett, Hornby, Christchurch. Miss Ada Ralph, of Auckland, was married at the Pro-Cathedral Dublin, recently to. Mr. John T. Donovan, Nationalist M.P., wild visited New Zealand a year or two back in furtherance of the campaign for the Homo Rule funds. Only a few intimate friends of the bride and bridegroom were present. The marriage ceromony was celebrated by the Rev. Francis J. O'Hara, C.C., the Cathedral, Newry, assisted by the Rev. John O'Reilly, C.C., the ProCathedral. Mr. Joseph Devlin, M.P., was best man, and Miss Mary Donovan, sister of the bridegroom, was bridesmaid. , ,
Mrs. Murison, who has been staying with her parents, Mr;, and Mrs. Huntley Elliott! the Hutt, returns to-day to Auckland.
Mr. and Mrs. Percival Evanß, left Wellington'yesterday, for, the West Coast, where they-intend'to remain for some weeks. . -
Dr. and Mrs. Henley (Napier) are in Christchuroh for the Medical Conference, which opened'there on Monday. Dr. and Mrs. Robertson, of Wellington, are also in Christchurch. -
. For one of the remarks. about the war which deserve not to be forgotten a witty lady recently was responsible. She stated that the only good thing she knew about the war was that it efitebled her. to hate the Germans as much as. she had always wanted to. — 1 "The Queen."
Clever Cecil Haines, who is now a member of the "Seven Little Australians" Company, and her mother arrived from Sydney by the Moeraki yesterday.
Major Henry Frederick Elliot Lewin, R.F.A., who married last year the late Lord Roberts's younger daughter, Lady Ada Edwina Stewart, is a brother of Captain Lewin, of. the Encounter, who was recently married to a Sydney girl, Miss Ruth Dangar. ■ •
Mr. Wyllie, City Electrical Engineer of Auckland, and Mrs. Wyllie (nee Miss Nash, of Wellington) arrived by the Moeraki from Sydney yesterday and are staying at the Royal Oak. Mrs. Wyllie has just returned from a visit to Great Britain.
