A man was arrested at Christchurch by Detective Lews and is to arrive here by the south boat this morning. He will be oliarged with the theft of jewellery valued "at £9 15s. from a room at the Empire Hotel. The same accused .is suspected of having stolen other property. from another city, hotel on -the same ~day. -- - .
