MASTERTON NOTES
The Wairarapa War Fund Committee intends considering the question of making a grant towards the relief of the starving, Servians. A firo has done considerable damage to the bush at the foot of Mount HoldsWorth, and the new track to the moun-tain-house is said to have been rendered impassable. A sum of £120 was realised at the Masterton Ram Fair last week, in aid of the Belgian Fund. Mr: H. E. Mowbray, of Hukanui, has leased his farm to Mr. Kelsey, of Tane, and will probably take up his residence at the Lower Hutt. . ' The Masterton District High School defeated Carterton in a cricket match played on Saturday by seventy runs to forty-three. A total of 509 entries has been received for the Masterton Horticultural Society's Show, to be held on Wednesday. Lat© entries have still to be received. The show promises to bo highly successful. \
