HOTEL ROBBERY TWO YOUNG GIRLS IN COURT The public enclosure at the Magistrate's Court was crowded on Saturday when the two young girls alleged to be responsible for the big hotel robbery appeared before Mr. D. G. 4-r Cooper, S.M. Their names were Dorothy Souter, 24 years old, and Lesley Reid, a .girl of 20 years. .They were charged with the theft of £141 55., the property of James Thompson. ChiefDeteotive Boddam asked for a remand until February 27- : This was granted, bail being fixed at £150, with sureties of £75. . Mr. T. M. Wilford was present on behalf of the acoused Reid. CIVIL SERVANT CHARGED WITH THEFT.- " '£ further remand'till Wednesday was granted, in the, case of James Gibson Briant, an ex-Civil Servant, who was charged with the tfheft of a cheque of '£795 from the Government. Baal, •in the sum of £200, was allowed as previously.'

'A CIVIL CASE. ' Judgment was entered for plaintiff in the civil action, Minnie Gavm v. J. Jago, a claim for £34, balance of fee for boarding. Costs, £2 165., were allowed and a writ of immediate execution issued. Mr. J. P. W. Dickson appeared for plaintiff. SUPREME COURT In the Supreme Court on Saturday morning, His Honour Mr. Justice Hosking heard argument on the question of costs in connection with the summons by the liquidator of the British Empire Petroleum Company to enforco payment of application moneys due by certain shareholders, namely: Mrs. Hadlev, of Auckland; John Hardley, of Auckland; .T. W. Hardley, of Auckland ; and Te Heu Heu Tukino, of Wellington. The had been dismissed in a judgment delivered on the previous day, and after hearing argument on Saturday, His Honour reserved his decision. _ , Mr. D. R. Hoggard appeared for the comoanv, Mr. M. Myers for Mrs. Hadlcy, and Mr. A. W. Blair for Te Heu Heu Tukino.
