A Carterton Wedding. Our Carterton correspondent writes, that the marriage took place in St.., Mark's Church,'Carterton, on Wednesday, of Miss Ivy May Lindop, youngest daughter of Mr, W. J. Lindop, to Mr. Nelsou Ernest George Rennall, fourth son of Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Rennall; well-known settlers of Kokotau. The Rev. R. Young, vicar of the parish, performed the ceremony, and the bride, who waß given away by her brother, Mr. Arthur Liudrop, wore a simply made white satin gown trimmed with silk Maltese lace, the train being lined with lavender ninon. She a'so wore a hand-embroidered veil, fastened with orange blossoms, and carried a bouquet, supplied by Miss Cooper, florist of Wellington. She was attended by Miss Duverin, of Eketahuna, and Miss Marama Hughes, of Carterton, aa bridesmaids. Miss Dufferin wore a frock of pale' pink silk, draped with charmeuse, and a_ white plumed tat Miss Hughes was in a rose-satin gown, and black satin hat. Both carried pale lavender bouquets, supplied by Miss Cooper, of Wellington. The bridegroom was attended by Messrs. Lindop, of Rangataua, and his presents to the bridesmaids were ohased gold bangles. After the ceremony the guests were entertained in St. Mark's Schoolroom,, which had been .decorated for. the occasion by the girl friends of the bride. Later, Mr. and Mrs. Nelson _Renoall left by motor, the bride travelling in a naw blue tailored costume and a black velvet hat trimmed_ with-pale pink ostrich feather ruching. Their future borne wjll bo at Mount Bruce, Eketahuna.

A Hastings Wedding, The wedding took place in St. Matthew's Church, Bastings, pa Wednesday, of Miss Cassie Warren, youngest daughter 'of-"Mr; and Mrs. E. J. Warren, Hastings, to Mr. Reginald M'Carthjj of Port Ahuriri. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a gown of'white crepe de chine, trimmed with' shadow lace and pearls. •'• She waß attended by her sister, Miss Ethel 'Warren, attired in beliqtrope crepe de chine, with hat to match', and by Miss Irene Clarke (her cousin) weaving ;a\ dress of pink silk, with hat en suite. Both wore geld pendants, gifts of the bridegroom. Mr. Duncan M'Jftae was best man.

' The meeting which was held in.the Town Hall last evening in support of the National tieserve movement evidently met; with, general interest and sympathy judging by the large gathering of :the public, which almost filled the hall. Women, too, showed their support by tlieir presence—in quite considerable uumbers—and ithey had the pleasure of listening to .the well-deserved tributes which wore paid to New Zealand women by .'the..Prime Minister and by the Mayor- Not only were they tributes' to' their ' tireless _ energy and tielf-sacriiice".' in working ' for. the' completion of the equipment ..of: the troops who have gone, but . for their courage, their abnegation in- pleading that their sons, sometimes' their''.only sons, might' be given the opportunity of'fighting for their country and for: the cause of justice and freedom. They . were fine tributes, and well; won. _ The nurses, too, were specially mentioned, and the hundreds of applications for serving at the front, which had. beeri ieceived, when only fifty were asked for. The r6signation of Mrs. A. P. Webster, as president' of' the Young Women's- Christian Association, was also received with very much regret. Mrs. Webster has been intimately connected with this movement since its inception in Wellington, and. her temporary absence will be considerably felt.
