ONSLOW BOROUGH COUNCIL

The ordinary meeting of the Onslow Borough Council was held last night. There were present: The Mayor, Mr. O. Ci Crump, and Councillors B. Lynnsberg, J. C. Gardner, D. Munro, E. C. Alderson, R. A. Nicol, L. A. Browne, ond A. H. Hoby. j On the motion of Councillor Alderson it was resolved to instruct the engineer to prepare estimates for tho metalling of tho roads in the borough, particularly in respect to the Gorge Road. ■ It was decided to refer tho matters of tho Teoent grass fire on the catchment area and of new notice boards for the Khandallah Domain to the Reserves Committee. Instructions wero given to the engineer to go into the question of a discharge from the tannery drain into the Kaiwarra Stream, and to suggest a method of remedying the matter. - . The application of the Defence Department to connect the Kaiwarra magazine with the water main was granted, subject to' the borough engineer's directions. It was decided to grant a permit to W. E. Bateman to, erect an additional building oh his section at Ngaio. District'fund accounts totalling £162 13s. 4d. were passed for payment.
