BIG SHIPPING DAY. Yesterday was. an exceptionally big shipping day at the port of WelljjiKton. Altogether 37 vessels entered and left the port, the respective figures being 17 arrivals and 20 departures. The above figures do not include the various "shifts" in the harbour during the, day. ARAKURA RUNNING LATE. Bad vaeather having delayed the Arahura on the West Coast, the veseel did not leave Nelpon till 1 P.m. yesterday. She is coming direct to Wellington this-trip, heing due in port between the hours of 7 and 8 o clock this morning. The ATahura will leave for Picton at 12.45 p.m., and will return hero thie evening as usual. SMART WORK AT WELLINGTON. Some exceptionally 6raa.rt work was done In connection with the discharge of the F. and S. Line's Westmeath „at the Kings WhaTf, Wellington, this tfCek. Work was commenced at 10 a.m. ( on-Monday, and concluded at 1 p.m. yesterday. During the 51 hours, 3100 tons of heavy cargo from Weßt Coast of England ports were landed. Quite recently 1500 tons were discharged from tne Wlrral at the Taranaki Street Wharf from 8.30 a.m. till 10 p.m., on one day. LAST OF THE PELOTAS. The barquentine Pelotas, which wfl€ wrecked near Wanganui. in June, 1911, was evidently a much stronger vessel than most people thought her to be, for when she was stranded it was expected that the vessel would go to pieces in a few weeks, but it has taken nearly fonr years to finish her. According to a correspondent, heavy seas and high tides during the last few days have made a great difference to the wreck of the Pelotas on Costlecliff beach. The wreck is now broken in two, and is yielding a nice little harvest of timber to the people at the seaside. DALDORCH AT AUCKLAND. An arrival at Auckland from Montreal, via way ports, lest evening, was the New Zealand Shipping Company's chartered steamer Daldorch. It is eioected that the vessel will arrive at Wellington in time to commence discharging Canadian, merchandise first thing on Monday morning. 8.8. BLENHEIM REFLOATED. The coastal steamer Blenheim, which has been ashore at the month, of the Wairau 'River for some days, was successfully refloated on yesterday morning's tide, and arrived at Wellington last eyening. The veseel is reported to be leaking a little, but otherwise 6he is apparently undamaeed. The Blenheim wil be placed on the Wellington' Patent Slip for inspection in the course of a day or »o.

The schooner Annie Hill is still in port at Lyttelton. and in all probability will remain at her berth, till the end of the month. As the Shaw-Savill liner Matatua was late in leaving Cape Town, she will not arrive at Auckland from London till about February 20. The veseel is expected to arrive at Wellington abont a week later. The departure of the Orari from; Wellington for London wiU take place at daybreak on Sunday next. On arrival at .Wellington from Napier and East Coast' bays on Monday nert, the ooastal steamer Squall will be placed on the Patent Slip for overhaul. The Tarawera, which will arrive at Wellington from southern ports this morning, will- land 269 tons of cargo here before going to northern ports.
