SUPPORT BRITISH MANUFAC- ' TUBES. A circular letter advocating support for British manufactures has been sent to all Chambers of Commerce and Commercial Travellers' Clubs throughout the Dominion by the Wellington Central Chamber of Commerce. Following is ihe text of the letter: — "Tho , attention of my council has been drawn to the energy being displayed by business men of the United States of America in the endeavour to secure some of the trade of the Dominion.
' 'The manufacturer and exporter needs the support of the Dominion to the utmost extent possible. Notwithstanding'the attractions offered by the United States of America as to its goods being cheaper as to price and equal as to quality when compared with British-made goods," my Chamber is of the opinion that the business men_ and the general public of this Dominion should if necessary make some sacrifice to support their 'kith and kin in trade relations.
"The public ijeeda educating in .the matter and with that object in view, it is .considered by my council that the commercial traveller is a good medium by which the public can bo educated to recognise the value of and buy only goods of British make. "I am therefore directed to send_ a copy of" this letter to all Commercial Travellers' Clubs and Chambers of Commerce throughout the Dominion with a request that tbey use their best endeavours to get into' touch with local merchants and business houses in an endeavour to interest them _ towards securing the services of their travellers for the purpose indicated."
