CONFERENCE OF MASTERS. ' (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) Dunedin, February 16. The annual conference of the New Zealand Master Plumbers' -Federation was commenced this morning. Mr. J. S Douglas, presideut, occupied tho chair,' and delegates were present from Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, Dunediu, Gisbome, Hawke's Bay, Invcrcargill, Tiuiaru. and Wanganui. Tho treasurer stated that the incopm for tho year was £84 12s. 4d.. which with the' credit balance brought forward made a total of j£9S Bs. Bd.; the expenditure was -.£BB 3s. id., leaviug a credit balance of £10 os. Gd. A sum of £24 125., included in tho year's expenses was incurred by tho 1913 executive. It was not anticipated it would bo necessary to increaso tho levies of past years. Tho report, which was regarded as extremely satisfactory, was adopted. The Executive's report states that the Hamilton Union liad not paid any dues extending over two years, and it was suggested that some definite action should bo taken in view of the union's position, and the privileges enjoyed nailer the Registration Act. No additional union" afliliated during the year, but they were expecting probably before the conference adjourned to hear of the affiliation of the union from Oamaru. The matter of a universal set of sanitary by-laws was still receiving attention,' Tlio report was adopted. At tho Plumbers' Conference this ovoning, tho following remits woro carried That Article I of tho by-laws bo amended so that the federation vicepresident may reside in any othor district than that in which the federation executive lives. That Article 4 bo amended to provida a maximum of threo delegates, including tho president from each union. That when a plumber is registered as a proficient drainer by any responsible or approved local authority, such certificate shall be dee,mod sufficient for all towns in the Dominion under tho juris* diction of the Plumbers' Bottrd. That tho Plumbers' Board bo request, ed to tako measures to provido for cer. tificated plumbers being doomed efficient to carry out and construct drain-' ago work, That the Plumbers' Bourd be request., ed to insist on universal examination for licensed drainers.
