SIR ROGER CASEMENT
ALLEGED ATTEMPT TO KIDNAP HIM London, February 14. Sir Roger Casement, in a communication to the newspapers, accuses Mr. M. de C. Fiiidlay, British Minister in Norway, of conspiring to kidnap him. Ho shows what purports to be a photographic copy of a letter in which Mr. Findlay, in his own handwriting, on behalf of the British Government, promised Sir Roger Casement's manservant, Christensen, a Norwegian, £5000 in the event of his capture.
Sir Roger Casement says that Christensen declares that Mr. Findlay urged him to lure Sir Roger Casement to tho coast, where a British ship could seize him; or, better still, to knock him on the head. Christensen had in his possession a key to the back door of tho Christiania Legation, enabling him to enter unobserved during negotiations in October, when Sir Roger Casement was in Christiania.
Sir Roger Casoment asks for Norway's protection, with a view to proceeding to Norway and submitting proofs of liis allegations.
