•' ——♦— —• BOY SHOT IN THE FACE. A rather serious gun accident occurred at Makara on Saturday afternoon. Robert Cronwell, a boy aged eleven years, was out shooting, and while lie was endeavouring- to climb a fence his gun went off. The charge entered his face just below the.loft eye, and caused a very nasty v.'ound. The lad fell off the fence, and hurt his shoulder badly, but it is not known yet if the bone was broken. ' - • Cronwell's home is at .Nowlands. At present he is in the Wellington Public Hospital. DEATH AT THE HOSPITAL. Sianey Shears, who was seriously injured through falling from a ladder the week before last, died at the Hospital 011 Saturday afternoon. An inquest will be held. . YOUNG WOMAN FOUND DROWNED. (Br TelegTODh—Pnni AtsoelcitieX.) New Plymouth, February 14. Agnes Gray M'Allister, a young woman, who had been an inmate of the Convalescent Home at New. Plymouth suffering from neurasthenia, was found dead on .the beach on Saturday, morning. At the inquest thq same evening the evidence of' Dr. Wyllie was that the condition-was inconsistent with 6uicide, and deceased had probably waudered into the water. A verdict was returned that deceased was found drowned, but there was no evidence to show how she got into the water. MAN FOUND HANGING. Auckland, February 14. A man named John Francis Holland, aged 37 years, who was boarding at a house-in Wolesley Avenue, Richmond, was found dead, having apparently hanged himself on the door of his pedroom.' It appears that Holland has been out of work for some time, which-ren-dered him very despondent. DEATH AFTER A BOXING MATCH. Clsborno, February 12.- ■ Archibald Lionel Form an, aged 16 years, while engaged in the amateur boxing tournament last evening, wa6 knocked out, throwing in the towel after the first round. When walking to the dressing-room he collapsed, and was subsequently found suffering from hemorrage of the brain, lie diccl early this morning. Forman earlier in the evening won the middle-weight oontest, and subsequently appeared in . the heavy-weights against R. N. Lewis, a much heavier man. This was Forman_s first public appearance in the local ring.
